Priviet! We are the Hinson family: Steve and Amanda, Aurora, Riles, and Iva. We are making a huge move to the largest country, spanning 11 time zones: Russia. In July 2010, we plan to travel literally to the end of the earth to a far eastern city of 700,000 called Khabarovsk.

Throughout our lives, we have had the fortunate experience of knowing and befriending hundreds of Russians in the states as well as travelling to Moscow, Tula and St. Petersburg on short-term visits. For one year in America , we took care of a former Russian-Ukrainian orphan girl who, though adopted by a family in the states, was still without a family, hope, or love. Her life was transformed in the year she lived with us, and she is now a beautiful, healthy and happy young woman.

Today, it only seems natural and fitting that after so many continous connections with Russians and Russia over the past 15 years, we ought to learn the language and continue to serve Russians as we have in the past. We love it when our Russian friends muse that we are really Russians, as they have taken note of our divine immersion into their culture and language. Though we have had these amazing opportunities, we plan to go to a university this year to become fluent in the Russian language so that we can serve them well.

Thank you for stopping by, and please remember us as this will be an arduous task. We plan to be gone for three years-- family and all. Since working will not be allowable, we will be surviving on the generous and tax-deductible gifts that people choose to cheerfully give. So thank you for investing in us and Khabarovsk!

Sincerely,
The Hinsons
